Carup builds the Signature Limited Edition body from a premium grade of Honduras mahogany, hand-selected for weight, resonance, and grain consistency that falls within the tightest specifications Carup’s luthiers apply to any production instrument. This mahogany grade produces a richer, more complex sustain than the standard grade mahogany used across the rest of the Carup electric range — a quality audible immediately when the guitar is played unplugged, before any amplification is introduced. The carved figured maple top is AAA flamed maple — a visual statement that also contributes the brightness and note definition that mahogany alone cannot provide in the upper register. Carup’s in-house pickup winders produce the Signature’s custom humbucker set by hand — each pickup wound to the specific wire turn count, tension, and magnet specification that Carup’s tone team has developed to complement the body and neck materials of this particular instrument.
